Single Majlis Dark Colour

This single majlis seat is built from rustic wood and finished in a deep, dark tone, drawing on the low majlis seating traditions kept alive by makers in Gaziantep, Turkey. Its grounded frame and generous seat invite long, unhurried gatherings around tea and conversation.

A dark rustic wood majlis seat made in Gaziantep

The dark finish lets the grain of the rustic wood read as quiet texture rather than a feature, suiting a majlis corner, a reading nook, or a low-set lounge where guests sit close to the ground. The 60 cm seat width and 70 cm seat depth give a single sitter room to settle in fully, while the 90 cm seat height keeps the piece upright and steady.

• Rustic wood frame: crafted from solid rustic wood, carrying the marks and grain of natural timber across every surface.
• Generous seat: a 60 cm seat width and 70 cm seat depth give plenty of room to relax into.
• Low majlis profile: a 90 cm seat height with 35 cm of free height beneath the furniture.
• Gaziantep made: handcrafted in Gaziantep, Turkey, a city long tied to traditional woodworking craft and skilled timber work.

Place a single piece in a quiet corner or line several along a wall to shape a traditional majlis. The dark tone pairs easily with kilim cushions and warm lamplight.

The rustic wood is meant to be touched, leaned on, and lived with for years. Because each frame is worked by hand, no two seats are ever exactly alike.
